The Effects of Stress

Stress is a term in psychology and biology, first coined in the 1930s, which has in more recent decades become a commonplace of popular parlance. It refers to the consequence of the failure of an organism – human or animal – to respond appropriately to emotional or physical threats, whether actual or imagined.

Stress symptoms commonly include a state of alarm and adrenaline production, short-term resistance as a coping mechanism, and exhaustion, as well as irritability, muscular tension, inability to concentrate and a variety of physiological reactions such as headache and elevated heart rate.

The problems become larger, when negative effects of stress starts to take hold, just right before the person realize about this.

Signs of stress may be cognitive, emotional, physical or behavioral. Signs include poor judgment, a general negative outlook, excessive worrying, moodiness, irritability, agitation, inability to relax, feeling lonely, isolated or depressed, aches and pains, diarrhea or constipation, nausea, dizziness, chest pain, rapid heartbeat, eating too much or not enough, sleeping too much or not enough, social withdrawal, procrastination or neglect of responsibilities, increased alcohol, nicotine or drug consumption, and nervous habits such as pacing about or nail-biting.

Stress can significantly affect many of the body's immune systems, as can an individual's perceptions of, and reactions to, stress. The term psychoneuroimmunology is used to describe the interactions between the mental state, nervous and immune systems, as well as research on the interconnections of these systems. Immune system changes can create more vulnerability to infection, and have been observed to increase the potential for an outbreak of psoriasis for people with that skin disorder.

Chronic stress has also been shown to impair developmental growth in children by lowering the pituitary gland's production of growth hormone, as in children associated with a home environment involving serious marital discord, alcoholism, or child abuse.

In summary, distress can have a number of negative effects. These range from minor problems, such as fatigue, insomnia and irritability, to full-blown depression. Some consequences, such as poorer concentration, forgetfulness, mental blocks and lowered attention span, negative behaviours, may also be cognitive. Other effects of stress can include greater risk of accidents, alcohol and drug abuse and explosive temper losses. Increased occupational stress may also have an impact on marital relationships. In some cases, sustained exposure to high levels of distress can lead to complete psychological burnout. In a few extreme cases, severe distress can eventually kill people.

Nobody Dies From AIDS Directly

Yes, nobody dies from AIDS directly. People do not die of AIDS. In fact, AIDS weakens the immune system so that other diseases particularly pneumonia can kill the infected person. The AIDS retrovirus goes straight for the central nervous system, as well as the lungs, and it attacks the brain, causing AIDS virus encephalopathy also known as dementia.

Most people infected with HIV eventually develop AIDS. These individuals mostly die from opportunistic infections or malignancies associated with the progressive failure of the immune system. HIV progresses to AIDS at a variable rate affected by viral, host, and environmental factors; HIV-specific treatment delays this process. Most will progress to AIDS within 10 years of HIV infection: some will have progressed much sooner, and some will take much longer. Treatment with antiretrovirals increases the life expectancy of people infected with HIV. Even after HIV has progressed to diagnosable AIDS, the average survival time with antiretroviral therapy was estimated to be more than 5 years as of 2005. Without antiretroviral therapy, someone who has AIDS typically dies within a year.

There are three clearly definable stages of AIDS infection. Stage one is the Asymptomatic Carrier Stage. The person may look well and feel well. No sign of AIDS is detected. Stage two begins with sudden drenching night sweats, persistent diarrhea, chronic fatigue, severe weight loss, candida and psychogenic disorder. These are called Aids Related Complex (ARC) or the pre-AIDS syndrome. The virus has now settled in the brain, kidneys, lungs, liver even the eyes and multiplied until its dread presence can no longer be hidden. All AIDS-Related Complex (ARC) diseases are described as "opportunistic."

What makes AIDS such a lethal epidemic is that stage one, the asymptomatic stage, can last for years five years and more is not uncommon. Such persons appear to be in good health, and even remain in good health for varying periods. With nobody sensing danger, they may infect any of their friends or family or even strangers because their body begins "shedding" the AIDS virus through bodily secretions, including sweat and tears.

In this time, we should be wise about the way we live and stay healthy :)

To chew food. Yes, for the consumption of any food, any lenient we think, we still need teeth to chew the food we eat. Purpose is to make the food intake that can be digested well by the subsequent digestive organs. What if not well chewed? Pity, then the digestive organs will work super hard to soften the food we eat. The result? Stomachache. Hehehe.

And there are parts that are embedded in the gums and jaw bone, called the root of the teeth. Trus term, neck teeth, namely the boundary between the crown of teeth and tooth roots. Layer of the outermost teeth email name. Is a part that can be seen by us, and believe not believe, this is the hardest part of our body. The next layer called dentin, with a slightly yellowish color. Then after dentine, we will find a section in the last tooth, called the pulp.
